Gentlemen Clodbusters

Clods in DCThe Clodbuster Base Ball Club was founded in 1989. With a handful of volunteers from Carriage Hill Farm (located 15 miles from downtown Dayton) and help from the Ohio Village Muffins, the team set out to re-create our national pastime as it was played around the time of the American Civil War. The Clodbuster nine has travelled near and far to play base ball as it was played in the early years of the sport. Their travels have taken them all around the Great State of Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, as far east as Long Island, NY, and as far south as Natchez, MS.

The bulk of our schedule comes against other 19th Century clubs, and we make up the rest with charity events, festivals and private functions. We take pride in not only teaching the grand 'ole game, but also in teaching others about the origins of our nation's pastime.
